Can a new boiler really lower my bills?
It sure can! All new boilers available to our customers today are at least 90% efficient. They are known as A-rated boilers. Older boilers were not made in line with the same kind of standards that we have today, and while yours might seem to be doing its job without any major issues, it could be far less efficient than other models.
What is efficiency, and how can it affect my bills?
What exactly is efficiency, though? It is the percentage of energy that is generated from fuel that is then converted into usable heat for your property rather than being wasted. We’ve just talked about how today’s boilers are 90% efficient, and this means that 90p of every £1 spent on fuel heats your property with just 10p being lost. If you take that down to say, 70%, then your boiler isn’t delivering as much heat for the money that you are spending.
How much money can I save by having a new boiler installed?
If you have a very old boiler, then you can look forward to some pretty substantial savings! Of course, this is going to vary from customer to customer. What kind of property you have, as well as the quality of your insulation, can have an impact.
